My cat, Arjuna, is aging out.
Her kidneys now weak,
she has started
her mortal decline.
Mind wants to call it death.
Emotions want to wail and cry (which I did for bit).
Both could easily lapse into a sad lethargy
where all is lost.
However, the Beloved shows me a better path:
I am to supervise these thoughts and emotions,
my own children of light,
direct them to the truth,
rather than the lie
we’ve been taught
through a million
incarnations.
When I transport into the Radiance,
all birth and death disappear into the oneness,
where my cat friend and I
live together in the essence of God.
Here,
now
and forever —
in eternity.
I am so sorry. She looks a lot like my classic tabby male…probably NM cousins somewhere along the way. There are lots of traveling spleen in that family. I have a mostly feral black female however who is in the place. I battle it with months arthritis shots but she is clearly on her own journey. Blessings to you both.
Thank you, Susan. Sounds like you have had some interesting experiences with cats. Aren’t they wonderful? Arjuna is my first so it’s all new to me. Sending blessing to you and yours as well.
My dear friend. What a beautiful expression and spiritual resolution about the impending transition of your little furry soul companion. Thank you so much for writing this as my friend Liz and I are going through the same experience with our 18 year-old tabby, Micah. Your words bring us so much comfort, and the reminder to constantly know that the beloved is in the midst of every single breath we take and every experience we have. Blessings and love to both of you.
Helen, thank you for sharing your experience with Micah. I’m so glad this little poem brought some solace. What an amazing gift it is to outlive our furry friends, so that we may more deeply know our and their eternal selves. Perfection abounds!
YES♥️
Blessings to you and dear sweet Arjuna, Lesley. The animal souls touch us so very deep❤️
Thank you, Colleen. I know that we share this love of our pet friends, and what a wonderful trait to share. Give my love to dear Hazel!
Lesley: Your words about Arjuna resonate with me. My her soul find rest in the warmness of your heart. The Love that you have shown her as she filled your life with smiles will always remain with you. You may find that there is another four legged soul waiting for you and will find you as was my experience.
Thank you, John. I know that you speak from experience about the loss of a beloved pet friend. I’m so happy you have found a new companion! Arjuna is responding well to treatment, so she may stick around for a while. In the meantime, I will enjoy her and keep focusing on her and my eternal selves.
Lesley,
Thank You for sharing this. Beautiful experiences abound. On May 31 last year when we were saying good bye to Del Boy (our 100 lb American Bulldog) and Called the vet to the house on Del Boy’s Graduation Day, we said goodbye to him under our big tree in the backyard. 3 days later a 3 foot Sunflower had sprouted on the EXACT Spot, and by Aug it was 6’6″ with 3 Ginormous Sunflowers lol, very beautiful reminder that Soul Goes on. the 2 cats are still around and will follow Arjuna some day. Much Love and many blessings to you and Arjuna on this beautiful journey of companionship you’re sharing.
Ben, Thank you for that INSPIRING story. I can see that glorious sunflower in my imagination, and what a reflection it is of our never-ending journey. I’m so happy that our Beloved supplied that solace for you as you navigated your furry friend’s passing. You are so right: Beautiful experiences abound!
Beautiful touching and perfect for my human companion on her journey back home. 🙏
