Recently, after reading a book about how to make our planet sustainable, I set a matrix to volunteer some of my writing to that cause. Within a few weeks, a call came in from a nonprofit asking me to create a film script to help save some tropical rainforest. I happily dug into the project.

My first attempt was too negative, the client said. I had talked too much about the effects of climate change. She wanted to focus on the positive. So I wrote a more upbeat script. But then, she decided it did need to include more of the negative.

Finally, with whiplash from the poles, I saw the folly of using my precious energy to save the world, so I left the project. I now know that my work is not to help create a sustainable planet. It is to become a self-sustaining being.

Saving the planet is a worthy goal, and I’m grateful to those who are doing it. However, my job is to stay with the Beloved and keep traveling Homeward. I do my best to channel the Love so others may transform as well. The very best I can do for the whole, including the planet, is to invest in my own emancipation.

This book, I Am Love, is a love song to my true self. It illustrates the journey toward the quest of sustainability—inside.

Every time the mind sets a lower goal—to be healthy, to secure romance, to better the planet, I am redirected, lately head-spinningly fast. When I’m awake, life is full of such constant refinement of the goal. I’m so grateful to have the Beloved’s guidance always directing me to honor my highest path, the true Love, the Real within.

With the humble offering of this new book, I invite you to join me in the quest to be a self-sustaining being.
