The mountain does not try to be majestic.
It simply stands tall, letting the light and seasons
play across its contours.
The river does not force itself to flow faster or uphill.
It simply follows its own frolicking meander
to the sea.
The sun does not compete with other stars in the galaxy.
It simply shines its brilliance
upon all within reach.
All I ever need to be
I already am.
So beautiful!
Such a beautiful vision!
WOW ! beautiful!!! reminds me of my Master’s Feb lecture about already being what we just need to realize we are.
You distilled the concept exquisitely.
Thank you. .
Lovely,like you,
So beautiful in it’s simplicity. Effortless Effort in poetry.
Beautiful symbolism you have used, the mountain, the river, the sun, all standing naturally naked in their existence. Reminds me of the Hafiz poem: The sun never says to the earth, “You owe me.” Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky. When we just “are” we are enough, but we have so many traits and tendencies pasted upon us by parents, friends, religions, and society in general that they are hard to shed, mostly because we don’t even recognize that we have them. I long to someday meet “me.”
Blessings, good friend, and thank you for sharing such a beautiful contemplation.
So beautifully written! I agree with Rudy Anderson about your beautiful symbolism….it definitely reminded me of the Hafiz poem – and your words are just as beautiful. I shared with a friend who is struggling….
Thank you!
Cheers!
