The moon observes
the shifting tides
high, low
through day and night
phased not
but fully aware
that all responds
to its gravity.

Bright, aware, gravitational we all are to some degree. Being “finger-less” as the moon is our big challenge — keeping our hands off what we see, and staying centered within ourselves. This poem is a work of art. Perfectly understated, yet wielding such strength. I probably say this with every poem, Lesley, but your gift continues to grow, and I am loving watching it happen before our eyes. Thank you so much for being willing to share with us.

Rudy — the metaphor fits perfectly with the poem. I bow to both you and Leslie.
Thank you, Rudy and Diane, for your beautiful contribution to this contemplation. As the grip loosens from the material world the “fingerlessness” becomes like a cool balm to a red-sore ego. It is such a joy to experience and we are blessed with the Beloved who graces it.
