I make a budget
write down sources:
Coaching,
book sales,
rental payments
will come.
Groceries,
utilities,
mortgage payments
will go.
All computes well.
Income covers outflow.
I’m safe.
But what if
I get
sick
sued
flooded
broken
lost?
Emotions flutter in my chest.
Mind cannot compute.
It has no safety net
for the unexpected—
“the reality”—of life.
This is a perfect setup
by God.
Nowhere to rely
but on the unseen.
So I suspend my attention,
image the Beloved.
Quiet comes
peace in realizing
my eternal sustenance
the true Me.
No budget needed here
For this Power is

Ah, “recognition is the key”, or all we need…. then realization brings it into being, ya? Thank you Leslie
Well said, Annie, so very true! Thank you for that beautiful distilling of this lesson: recognition to realization!
You hit the nail on the head.
On the edge…again! Serves us well. Thanks for elegant and profound words
Thanks, Al, yes we definitely are blessed to live on the razor’s edge.
The irony of distinctions: Through the efforts and purview of mind, ego and personality…bliss, harmony, and equipoise are ‘nowhere’ to be found. And yet through the centered *essence* of our Beloved these graced allowances are unmistakably, undeniably and even intoxicatingly *now-here*. How profoundly different are our every experience as provided through the simple and yet distinctive placement of our attention? Sweet little stroll down Love’s Lane dearest Lesley!
So true, Bobby, our experiences are immensely different depending on the placement of our attention. We are truly blessed to be able to view through the Beloved’s eye, whenever we invite that all-powerful vibration in.
A total “set-up” is right. All of life is a set-up which allows us to either choose to slip into the palm of the Master or to find consolation in worry, stress and a decision to work harder — habit thoughts that now have a chance to be broken. Your little poem eloquently smacks down those little pests, giving way to peace and contentment through the loving image of a sweet and competent Sat Guru. Beautifully crafted, Lesley, as always.
Rudy, thank you for this eloquent rumination–truly the alternative to surrender is worry, stress and hard work. The equation is so simple and yet quite challenging to execute simply because it takes a warrior’s heart.
Lesley I just read your post at the perfect time! I have really been contemplating this surrendering all to the Master and what a blessing it is to not just think about it, but to really let it all go and accept the Divines will in all things! It is funny how the mind keeps trying to rise up and tell me what I should do next but even it is beginning to truly enjoy going with and contemplating the Masters teachings and limitless power!
It is so amazing and wonderful that the more we surrender, the more the Master showers us with his Love Power and Wisdom. I am so enjoying this spiritual war, since I know that everything is perfect and through this surrender the Master will bring me home. I now realize and accept that every event in my life is simply a teaching for me to discern the Shabda in everything and to realize the teachings every moment now brings! What a blessing it is,”The Limitless Life,” by being a Chela of a True Master!
