Please enjoy this guest post by my friend Colleen Buchanan.
Unbeknownst to us, as we ate dinner recently, our daughter choked on a green bean. By the time we realized what was happening, she was already turning purple. The look on her face was sheer terror.
My husband jumped into action and performed the Heimlich maneuver but it didn’t work. He then tried to stick his fingers down her throat, but she frantically pushed his hands away.
By this time, she was even bluer, and I felt utterly helpless. I knew in that moment there was nothing I could do except rely on the Beloved. My daughter’s eyes locked on mine, hers pleading with me to do something, and I called out loud to the Beloved. In that very instant, she swallowed the bean and started breathing again.
A little while later after things had settled down, I thanked my husband (a self-proclaimed “non-believer”) for his part in saving our daughter’s life. He looked at me and said, “I didn’t do anything—I think it was Divine Intervention.”
How unbelievably blessed and graced we are.

It is mystical and a miracle how the Living Master (Beloved) is able to help each disciple with their physical existence, as well as their realizations beyond this world. Thank you.
So true, Al, and beautifully said.

WOW that post moved me to tears!
Beautiful example of the power of the Beloved, always there when we Rely on him.
How blessed, you were, Colleen, to remember to do so and I’m sure it is because you’ve created a strong spiritual practice of simran and practicing the Presence.
My heart of soul sings.
Thank you for sharing and you too Lesley for giving Colleen this venue.
Indeed Shiela, I am learning to rely on Him in ever increasing degrees. It never ceases to amaze me when I do : )
Holy cow, Colleen! I didn’t realize that had happened. What a beautiful testimony to the Master’s great love for us and all those to whom we are closely connected. The Master has promised us that our loved ones are protected. Thank you for sharing this deeply moving experience of one of the countless ways He cares for us. Many blessings and much love to you, Jay and Jolene.
