This poem by my friend JoHanna Hartwig perfectly depicts this lovely time of year.

Solstice

In the sweetest hours of dawn

the world hangs

in perfect balance.

We dreamers on this plane

tell ourselves we are awaiting

the sun’s return.

But I ask…

Is it the return of this celestial body

that brings the joy and peace

for which we ardently yearn?

Or, my sweet, is it

the sublime and ineffable

bliss of Love found only

in the stillness of the dawn?

Listen in the silence

for this truly reflects

the receptive opening

in our own Universe.

JoHanna Hartwig lives in El Morro, New Mexico where she plays the Celtic harp and is continually inspired by the exquisite solitude of the landscapes.
