Hi Lesley, I really like that, “The right sound track.” Of course to us the ‘SOUND,’ is the only track we need and are! Yes, in the city or as I like to say,”The concrete jungle,” the sound is the same here, as it is in the, “Land of Enhancement,” or your wonderful home of New Mexico! I am now dancing to this sound track all the time! Great post!
Yes, Michael, we are fortunate to “dance to the Soundtrack all the time!” This quote struck me on many levels. When we watch movies, the scenes become so much more meaningful and poignant when the right music comes in, and isn’t that true of our lives: Everything takes on deep meaning when we know that all experience is here to carry us Home.
I am struck with the truth of that statement, Lesley. I think as humans we see ourselves as a mixed bag of concrete, flowers, leather and refuse and fail to see the perfection in that composition. We live and breathe to “learn our way into being,” and everything about us points us in the right direction, no matter what our limited and derisive minds have to say about it. Your little gift to your readers this morning is a beautiful launching pad for an inner contemplation. Thank you so much!
So true, Rudy, that is exactly why I enjoyed this quote so much–the way all of creation urges us toward our God selves. By the way, you would probably like this movie.
Kind of a coincidence? This photo is what Modesto, CA is all about…lots of long trains! They are very loud, they stop traffic and they have unique harmonies to their whistles…some are gorgeous (such as Amtrak) and some are monstrous sounds that try one’s tolerance. I am reminded that all of creation is a composition of harmonies, whether pleasing or horrendous.
Al, that is a beautiful observation. I am enjoying the understanding that all sounds make up the great Sound that is us. Truly we are at the center of our creations, a shining, flawless love-drop and the many sounds radiate out from there, the coarsest ones on the fringes of our universal body. But all do make up the great beauty of our being. I shot this photo in Clovis, in eastern New Mexico, where the only landmarks are trains and grain silos. Fortunately the Divine gave me this gorgeous moment to appreciate His creation.
Love the quote ! We get so much from nature & all the beauty that surrounds us. It’s good to realize that the Divine includes everything we see, hear, & experience without exception ! The whole is inclusive….the part separate…& yet so often the pain of the parts brings us to want wholeness . The Divine plan is so perfect…grace fulfilled !! The Sound- tract ever present !!! Thanks, Leslie !
Susan, what you say is beautiful. Truly when we are in the whole we are immovable from the love. We ARE love. And yes, the Divine orchestration is stunning beyond imagination. Thank you!
“The Divine dwells as much in the concrete and taxicabs …”
That cracks me up. I drove taxi in South Florida for several years; now I spend a fair amount of time mixing cement.
Haha. No wonder you’re so Divinely inspired, Sammi.
