Asteroid of Love

1024px-Asteroid_Belt_Around_Sun_Sized_Star

Oh, blessed asteroid

hurtling toward Earth

please annihilate me.

Destroy the piranhas

that gnaw on my heart.

Obliterate the gnats

that buzz in my head.

“Really?” a voice within whispers.

“What if you simply surrender,

let go of the lower concerns

you hold so dear?”

I call out for help,

chant and sit with the pain

of loosening mind’s grip

on its many Legos and Barbies.

Suddenly, the Beloved’s

asteroid of love

soars within me.

Understanding dawns,

while with a puff of Breath,

all heartache

is balmed to smithereens.

Lesley

    Lesley,
How did you know about my gnats and piranhas? And to think that the Master’s Loving Presence rather than annihilation was my answer! “Balming to smithereens” is such a perfect reframe…thank you for this very timely inspiration.
    Much Love,
    Dan

Dan, it’s comforting to know we share the gnats and piranhas (less and less, for sure). Thank you for your kind words. The Master is the great balmer!

So powerful and timely for me, thank you. Too often I rail against those piranhas and gnats, rather than surrendering. Thank you!

That is the key, isn’t it, Chloe? To go right to the surrender, rather than wrangling with the negative force. A great teaching for us all.
